The report analyzes the rates applied in the provincial capitals of Italy in 2023 for a family of 3 with an annual consumption of 182 cubic meters. By reducing consumption to 150 cubic meters, an average saving of 27% could be achieved.
Families with an ISEE of up to 9.530 euros and access to the social water bonus would save on average about 22-27%. In Campania, the bonus varies from 85 euros in Salerno to 70 euros in Naples.
According to Istat data from 2020, water dispersion in provincial capitals is on average 36,2%, with peaks of up to 42,2% on a national scale. Some areas, especially in the South and the Islands, record a dispersion of over 50%.
For example, in Campania, water dispersion ranges from 64,4% in Caserta to 27,4% in Naples. This information highlights the importance of monitoring and optimizing water use to ensure sustainable management of water resources.
