The drugs were hidden in clothes that were supposed to be delivered to the inmates: these are clothes that came from outside the prison and were stored in some warehouses that the inmates have access to.
The union's appreciation
The Penitentiary Police Union (USPP), with the president Joseph Moretti and the regional secretary Ciro Auricchio, complimented all the prison staff and her colleagues from the dog group.
“By now a daily war is being fought – underscore – with the continuous discovery of drugs and cell phones. The prison police must be equipped with advanced technological tools to guarantee legality in penal institutions”.
Lack of staff
“In Avellino, as repeatedly reiterated, – conclude the two trade unionists – 60 officers are missing and, with difficulty, we are still managing to maintain order and internal security”.
