Inspectors from the Interregional Directorate of Labour in the South (DIL Sud) discovered eight workers employed “off the books”, including a beneficiary of the inclusion income, on a construction site in Aversa, in the province of Caserta.
In addition, significant safety violations were found, which led to the immediate suspension of operations.
The violations include the lack of safety measures necessary to protect workers from electrical hazards, the use of trestle bridges that did not comply with safety requirements, and the lack of adequate protection systems for the openings to the void on the balconies where the work was taking place. It also emerged that the workers had not been given a medical examination.
After the inspection, the inspectors imposed fines totaling over 60 thousand euros, of which approximately 30 thousand euros for workers employed “in black” and approximately 33 thousand euros for violations of health and safety at work.
