The association "Nobody touches Hippocrates" reported a serious episode of aggression against 118 health personnel that occurred at the Boscotrecase hospital, in the province of Naples.
The situation has become increasingly critical, with frequent cases of healthcare workers being subjected to verbal and physical assault. The statement released via the association's social media channels describes the incident that occurred on a Saturday night, when an ambulance was called to an emergency in Boscotrecase.
During the operation, a bystander began threatening and insulting the medical staff, falsely accusing them and even attempting a physical attack, but was fortunately stopped by the other bystanders.

Attacks on medical and healthcare workers are increasingly frequent, endangering those who work to save lives. The association responded to the attacker's attempt to justify the attack, emphasizing the promptness of the intervention and the need for slow transport to avoid further harm to the patient.
Acts of violence like this highlight the grave danger healthcare workers often face, and they should be protected and defended rather than attacked while carrying out their daily work.
