The mayor of Calvizzano, Giacomo Pirozzi, has sounded the alarm to the government, highlighting the growing wave of crime that is affecting the territory of the town, located north of Naples. Pirozzi wrote a letter addressed directly to Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, urgently asking for the adoption of rigorous measures to combat the rampant criminal phenomenon that, in recent weeks, has put the municipality and the entire northern area of Naples in crisis.
The mayor highlighted the presence of unbridled baby gangs, criminal gangs that commit burglaries in apartments and incessant scam attempts. In the letter, Pirozzi drew the attention of the Premier to the critical issues that mayors must face on a daily basis and stressed the importance of timely intervention by the government, the Ministry of the Interior, the Prefecture, the police and the judiciary to find definitive solutions.
The mayor recalled a recent episode in which, during a fight that broke out over trivial reasons, a young man ended up in the hospital due to stab wounds, while two others suffered several bruises. Pirozzi invited the Premier to visit the territory to fully understand the difficulties faced by the local community and to demonstrate that the State is close to the citizens.
“In reminding you of your past visit to Caivano, which brought a breath of hope and a tangible sign of change compared to the past, I am sure that, as in other circumstances, you will accept my request for help and will come here to demonstrate that the State is close to our territories”, concluded Pirozzi.
