Genoa Bar Run by Camorra Front Men: 6 Convictions

The investigation into the case "Libeccio", a bar in Pegli, in the western part of Genoa, saw its epilogue with six people convicted for the dubious management of the commercial business.

According to what emerged from the Guardia di Finanza, the Flying Squad and SISCO, the premises were registered to a front man, Liberated Soriente, would have been effectively managed by Angelo Russo, already detained in 2019 for alleged links with drug trafficking in Naples.

The charges allege that Russo financed the venue with illicit money, including intervening in its renovation after an arson attack in 2016.

The six people involved were convicted following a fast-track trial. The prosecutor had requested a total sentence of more than 17 years, but the judges handed down shorter sentences.

Angelo Russo he was sentenced to 4 years in prison, Mario Russo 2 years with conditional suspension of sentence, Francesco Cinquegranella e Antonio Novelletti at 3 years each. Liberated Soriente he was sentenced to 2 years suspended and Antonietta Russo 1 year suspended.
