In May 2024, the third auction for the sale of the Salesian Institute will be held (after the first two failed) for less than three million euros. Will it be done without a strong public initiative to stop possible speculative or, worse, criminal intentions?
What is needed now is a strong gesture from the institutions to discourage those who think they can make a “deal” with the game of deserted auctions.
The institutions participate in the auction and acquire the property created thanks to the donation of Monsignor Starace at the end of the nineteenth century, the first Salesian house in Southern Italy
The city discusses and identifies, in addition to social spaces, the best destination:
– Hotel management school?
– New Wellness Citadel of the Thermal Baths of Stabia, with the contribution of private individuals (Salesians, Congress Centre and Hydropinic Park)?
– Headquarters of the Campania Water Authority and the Monti Lattari Park?
– University location for tourism, archaeology or thermal water studies?
We ask the Municipality to intervene also with its own resources, and to involve the Campania Region, the Metropolitan City, the Ministries of Culture and University.
