A drone used to deliver drugs and cell phones to inmates was intercepted and seized by the Penitentiary Police in the prison of Salerno.
The operation was triggered after six cell phones were found in a prisoner's cell. Subsequent checks identified the drone and seized over 800 grams of hashish.
Giuseppe del Sorbo and Giuseppe Moretti, respectively national secretary and president of the Uspp, expressed their applause to their colleagues for the brilliant operation. They also underlined the urgent need to train specialized anti-drone personnel in Campania and to equip the penitentiary police with adequate technological tools, such as jammers to inhibit the telephone signal.
Del Sorbo and Moretti finally recalled the lack of personnel in the prison of Salerno, which has 60 fewer agents. In their opinion, only with enormous sacrifices can order and internal security be maintained.+
