La Campania is the region with the highest number of online players. This is what emerges from the statistical data collected by Blue Book 2022. The study reports that in the Vesuvius region, 2022 new accounts were opened in 789.921. This is 16,12% of the accounts opened nationwide. The numbers are impressive if you consider that in second place in this ranking is the Lombardia with 655.653 accounts, while the Sicilia, third, has a number of new accounts equal to 541.680. From what has emerged, it is primarily young people between the ages of 18 and 24 who are opening new gaming accounts, also due to their greater familiarity with electronic media and the internet in general. It is noteworthy that the total accounts in Campania in 2022 amounted to 3.006.015.
These data are reinforced by the Federconsumatori Report on Gambling in Italy, always relative to 2022, according to which Campania is the region with the highest expenditure on betting, poker and online slots, or 590,84 million, up compared to 2021 (when it was 588,28 million). By delving into this data, we discover that Napoli is the second Italian city both in terms of collection (1.7138.639.133) and expenditure (100.648.923,97). In general, in the ranking of the first 50 provincial capitals for collection and expenditure in online gaming, Campania places four cities (Naples, Salerno, Caserta and Benevento), while Avellino It is located just below, in fifty-first place.
The recent surge in online gaming can also be seen by analyzing two other data. The first, again from the Blue Book, tells us that, at the national level in 2022, 4.403.699 users were found to have between 2 and 10 online accounts. This trend is due to the great variety that the web offers. Many players prefer to play on multiple sites to have greater possibilities of taking advantage of promotions, but also to be able to try out new game titles, perhaps only present on certain platforms.

The second element that is worth analyzing is the growth in popularity of European licensed online casinoIndeed, a growing trend among the large Italian player base is to register with them. In Campania, too, the number of users opening an online account at a non-AAMS casino has recently grown. The reasons behind this choice are easy to understand. These gaming platforms offer the same security features as AAMS ones, but offer a richer schedule of events and more extensive promotions than Italian-licensed sites.
In conclusion, the data and analyses presented highlight a panorama of online gambling in Campania that reflects national trends, but with marked regional peculiarities.. We are therefore moving towards a new era in terms of gaming, where once again Campania acts as a driving force.
