The Mtb Centro Italia Race Cup circuit will stop in Campania on April 7th, precisely in Gragnano (NA), for the seventh edition of the Granfondo del Parco Regionale dei Monti Lattari. This competition, which over the years has become a true classic in the panorama of off-roading in Southern Italy, is particularly important because it is also valid for the Campania Challenge, which brings together all the main races in the region.
Last year's edition saw Adriano Luciano and Rossella Diezzo triumph, but for the first Sunday in April, many fat tire enthusiasts are expected in Campania, even from the Central-Southern regions. The routes are still being defined, but it is expected that they will not differ excessively from those of last year.
The long route, 44 km long with a difference in altitude of 1.800 meters, develops entirely within the Regional Park, involving the territories of the Municipalities of Gragnano, Pimonte, Agerola and Scala. Although relatively short, the route is challenging, with a particularly treacherous segment after about 6 km, 700 meters long, where the less experienced may be forced to get off the bike. The medium route measures 32 km with a difference in altitude of 1.250 meters and is also open to E-bikes.
The start is scheduled for 9:00 from the Gragnano Municipal Sports Field in Via Croce. At the end of the race, at the same location, the awards ceremony will be held for the first 5 overall and category of the two routes. Registrations are already open at a cost of 25 euros, with a deadline of March 24, after which date increases are expected.
Gragnano, reachable from the A3 motorway, Castellammare di Stabia exit, continuing along the SS145, offers not only the opportunity to participate in an exciting race but also to enjoy tourist itineraries to discover the history and production of pasta, with the possibility of tasting local delicacies.
