The president of the FIGC, Gabriele Gravina, is under investigation by the Rome Prosecutor's Office on charges of self-laundering. The investigation arose from a report by the National Anti-Mafia Directorate in March 2023 on "alleged illicit activities".
Gravina was heard by the prosecutors today, March 6, 2024, at his request to clarify his position. The registration in the register of suspects occurred before the interrogation.
According to investigators, this is a necessary act to exclude and clarify the circumstances. Gravina, former president of Lega Pro until 2018, was heard by the chief prosecutor Francesco Lo Voi and the deputy prosecutor Giuseppe Cascini.
The investigation concerns the dossiers against politicians, entrepreneurs and celebrities, with abusive access to the investigative databases "Siva" and "Sdi Web".
Gravina's lawyers, Leo Mercurio and Fabio Viglione, have clarified that it was their client who asked to be heard to clarify his position.
The alleged crimes are embezzlement and money laundering, but at the moment they are not directly connected to Gravina. The Perugia Prosecutor's Office has forwarded the documents to Rome.
