Körper - National Dance Production Center presents numerous performances in Italy and abroad, pursuing research into choreographic language and artistic experimentation.
The March circuit opens with Come neve, a performance by the Neapolitan choreographer Adriano Bolognino which will be on stage at Teatro Nuovo in Naples on March 19th at 21 pm, as part of the Anticorpi XL Network, and the March 20th at the Pasolini Theater in Salerno at 20:00 PM. The final phase of "Decisione Consapevole" (Thursday, March 28, 21:XNUMX PM) will be presented to the public. This project by choreographer Roberto Tedesco will premiere at the Fonderia in Reggio Emilia, at the Aterballetto National Choreographic Center, co-producer of the work.
Conscious Decision involves four dancers on the verge of choosing, in a conceptual map designed to guide the improvisation sessions. Doubts and certainties move in an empty space to be filled and emptied through the awareness of each individual performer. Respect for taste plays a fundamental role in ensuring that everything is homogeneous and that the different personalities are dressed in a single dress: the latter dresses the performers with specific attitudes, rhythms and ways meticulously studied, sets limits that however include infinite freedoms and is all that encourages the decision. Perhaps then the dress is the same awareness? Isolation, intimacy, communication, community are the four key words that while narrowing the circle maintaining the most respectful decision, still leave infinite possibilities for interpretation. By consciously deciding the key word, the dancers will initially fill the scene, existing individually but also and above all aggregating; analysis and reworking will then lead to the final version.
The chaos of uncertainty in Roberto Tedesco's performance contrasts with the sweet stasis in movement of Come neve. Adriano Bolognino's work starts from the image of snow observed through the eyes of a child and continues towards the memory and the sense of well-being, protection and community that arises from it; before starting to work with the bodies of the dancers (Rosaria Di Maro and Noemi Caricchia), he creates an environment that already reflects the idea of creation, starting with their clothes. The "Crochet Club" is therefore involved, a group of women who, during the pandemic, met to reinvent themselves, rediscovering an art and transforming it into a new job. By intertwining these elements, the spectator is invaded by a sudden snowfall of bodies in motion, still in a serene contemplation. Bolognino composes a choreography as if it were crochet: an intricate yet elegant plot, a conscious interweaving that generates new forms. Building, sewing, mending, reinventing.
KÖRPER | NATIONAL DANCE PRODUCTION CENTER
Körper continues its activity of production and valorization of the new languages of contemporary dance in Campania, in Italy and abroad. A project articulated not only through productions of shows in theaters, but also with residences, meetings, able to connect the local contemporary scene with what happens at a national and international level.
The recognition of the MIC in June 2022 as a National Dance Production Center comes after 20 years of activity and encourages the Center to continue supporting the emergence of young choreographers from the Campania Region, with an open eye to international artistic realities.
Over the years, the Körper Production Center has built relationships with institutional and local organizations involved in the production and dissemination of dance and the arts, such as the Teatro Pubblico Campano, the National Archaeological Museum of Naples (MANN), the Academy of Fine Arts, the Casa del Contemporaneo Theater Production Center, the Teatro Nazionale di Napoli, and the Liceo Coreutico Palizzi, with which it maintains an ongoing dialogue, thus expanding its programming offerings in the locations of its partnerships.
