He attempted to kill one of the drug kingpins of the Monti Lattari, Michele Comentale, and his nephew because a mare had trespassed on his property.
And so this morning, the Carabinieri of the Operational Section of the Operational and Radiomobile Nucleus of the Castellammare di Stabia Company, together with the military of the Carabinieri Station of Lettere, proceeded with the arrest of AC, a 33-year-old man from Lettere.
The action was carried out in compliance with a precautionary detention order issued by the Preliminary Investigations Judge of the Torre Annunziata Court, at the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office.
The man is seriously suspected of the attempted murder committed in December 2022 against Michele Comentale, as well as of the illegal carrying, possession, and receiving of a 12-gauge semi-automatic shotgun bearing a punched serial number.
The arrested man is also charged with aggravated assault against Comentale's nephew, which occurred in the same time period. According to the investigation, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office, the man allegedly fired several shots from a 12-gauge shotgun, striking the two victims in different parts of their bodies.
The attack appears to be linked to disputes regarding the entry of a mare from Comentale onto the suspect's property.
The investigation involved the acquisition of witness statements and the analysis of images from various video surveillance systems, thus allowing for a detailed reconstruction of the dynamics of events and the movements of the suspect's vehicle in the phases following the crime.
After completing the formal procedures, the arrested man was taken to the G. Salvia prison in Naples-Poggioreale, where he will remain at the disposal of the judicial authorities.
