According to initial reports, the woman reported being kicked and slapped by her partner, and that it wasn't the first time. The arguments, sparked by trivial matters, had been going on for two years. On one occasion, the woman had already sought medical attention for severe back pain caused by the beatings.
The man had destroyed glass and furniture in the house
The Carabinieri arrested the man, who was found in his home with destroyed kitchen utensils and shattered windows. He is now being held in the Santa Maria Capua Vetere prison at the disposal of the judicial authorities.
This incident represents a serious case of domestic violence, which unfortunately remains far too common. The woman found the courage to report the abuse and is now safe. Her partner's arrest is an important step towards obtaining justice and protecting the woman and child.
