The mayor of Naples, Gaetano Manfredi, was optimistic about the progress of the reclamation and urban regeneration works in the former Italsider area of Bagnoli. He stressed the importance of continuing with determination, as pausing is not an option. Manfredi said that the funding for land remediation has been completed, but it is essential to extend the operation to sea remediation, for which additional resources are needed.
The mayor shared these considerations in anticipation of the second meeting of the control room, called for March 7 at Palazzo Chigi. He specified that Invitalia is currently finalizing the forms for the request for funding, which will be presented later. Subsequently, the Government and the Ministry for the South will evaluate the sources of funding available for the important urban regeneration project.
"I am confident, there is the will to move forward and it is essential because we cannot stop. Now we have completed the financing of the reclamation on land and it is essential to carry out the reclamation at sea and therefore it is necessary to find these additional resources – his statements -. Invitalia is finalizing the forms for the request for funding and therefore these new forms will be presented, then clearly there will be an evaluation by the Government and the Ministry for the South on the sources of funding".
