During the month of March, the National Library of Naples offers a series of events dedicated to the celebration of Women and Dante Alighieri.
The initiative, "A Library All for Us 2024," offers a diverse program sure to engage the public. On the occasion of International Women's Day, the Library will host several events from March 11th to 21st, focusing on the role of women in society and culture.
Among the most interesting events are the presentation of Michela Miscia's book on the Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing in 1995, and an exhibition by painter Marianna Iozzino inspired by Ovid's Metamorphoses. On March 19th, in the Sala Rari, "Sguardi Femminili" (Female Views) will be presented, curated by Esther Basile and featuring writer Margherita Guidacci. On March 21st, a roundtable discussion will be held on the theme "The Visible and the Invisible: Healing Differences," featuring various institutions and prominent women.
To celebrate Dantedì, on March 25th the Library will offer an artistic event with Caroline Peyron and a related installation, followed on March 28th by a costume initiative entitled “The Divine Comedy in the vernacular… but not too much.”
Numerous cultural initiatives are expected that will make the month of March at the National Library of Naples rich in ideas and insights related to the figure of women and the literary genius of Dante Alighieri.
