Anti-Camorra operation by the Carabinieri in the province of Caserta thanks to which a heavy blow was dealt to the Gagliardi clan and drug trafficking in the territory of Mondragone and Cellole.

The Carabinieri of the Mondragone Territorial Department, in collaboration with the Naples District Anti-Mafia Directorate, have in fact executed a precautionary custody order against 10 people, dismantling a criminal organization linked to the Gagliardi clan.
The crimes contested under various titles are criminal association aimed at trafficking, possession and dealing of narcotics, illegal possession of weapons and kidnapping for the purpose of extortion.
Through technical and investigative activities, the Carabinieri identified the leader of the organization: a historic member of the Gagliardi clan who, thanks to his "criminal charisma", controlled the drug dealing activity.

The organization was able to supply any type of drug, both hard and soft, to its numerous customers. The sales of narcotics, over 15.000, occurred at any time of day or night in the municipalities of Mondragone and Cellole.
The organization was well structured, with a precise division of tasks and functions. Members used different telephone numbers to receive orders and “dedicated” vehicles for drug dealing.
During the investigation, over 30 kilograms of drugs (hashish, marijuana, cocaine and crack), a 7.65 caliber pistol and an over-and-under shotgun and numerous rounds of ammunition were seized.
Five people were arrested in flagrante delicto during the investigation phase.
