In the context of an investigation conducted by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Naples North, the Carabinieri of the Castelmassa Company, in the province of Rovigo, have identified a 60-year-old man originally from Mugnano but moved to Polesine for work reasons.
A custodial order was issued against him by the Court of Naples North, at the request of the local Public Prosecutor's Office. The man is suspected of mistreatment and aggravated personal injury against his wife, a 41-year-old woman of South American origins.
Previously, he had been subjected to the precautionary measure of prohibiting him from approaching the victim, but further investigations revealed more serious and dangerous behavior.
After having pressured the victim not to testify in court or to lie, the man was sought and arrested by the Carabinieri of Castelmassa at his new residence in Alto Polesine.
The judicial authority has decided to replace the precautionary measure with detention in prison due to the seriousness of his actions and the danger he represents for the victim.
