The City of Napoli approved a program for the construction of new housing in Scampia and in the eastern area for approximately 900 families.
These accommodations will be built with funds from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) in Scampia, Taverna del Ferro and in the BiPiani Camp in Ponticelli.
This initiative is part of the urban redevelopment and social regeneration plan launched by the Manfredi administration, with the aim of offering advanced and sustainable housing solutions to improve the quality of life of residents.
The Special Program also allows families who currently reside in the areas concerned to obtain housing, even if they are not beneficiaries. These families will be entitled to temporary accommodation in new homes for up to three years, participating in a monitoring program to ensure that they maintain the eligibility requirements for the Program.
Mayor Gaetano Manfredi stressed the importance of ensuring decent housing for thousands of people to promote social inclusion and transform the city through redevelopment interventions. Deputy Mayor Lieto expressed satisfaction for having identified innovative solutions that allow offering new homes also to those in need, helping to combat informal housing and recognize the right to housing of historically marginalized communities.
