A 44-year-old Moroccan citizen was arrested at the airport in Naples to serve a sentence of 4 years, 4 months and 26 days in prison for sexual violence.
The man had been convicted in a case dating back to March 14, 2012 in Poggiomarino, Naples.
The subject, resident in Poggiomarino and holder of a residence permit for subordinate work, had just landed in Napoli on a flight from Casablanca when he was arrested by the Border Police. The arrest warrant was issued on March 7, 2023 by the Torre Annunziata Prosecutor's Office.
The conviction was linked to the fact that, in 2012, the man had taken his Bulgarian ex-partner to an abandoned farmhouse in Poggiomarino, where, after having made sexual advances towards her which were rejected, he had immobilized her, causing her injuries and forcing her to suffer sexual violence.
This episode had led to the refusal to renew his residence permit following his conviction. Justice then took its course and the man was arrested at the airport to serve his sentence in prison.
