A State Police operation led to the execution of precautionary measures against ten individuals believed to be responsible for aggravated theft and receiving stolen goods in Naples. The restrictive measures arose from investigations involving a group of Roma people residing in the "Ponte Riccio" gypsy camp in Giugliano in Campania.
The operation followed the arrest on April 27, 2020, of four Roma individuals accused of the death of State Police Select Officer Pasquale Apicella in a car accident that occurred during a pursuit.
The investigations led to the identification of a criminal organization composed primarily of Roma people who were primarily involved in car thefts in various areas of Campania.

The investigative activities revealed a precise division of tasks within the criminal organization: there were those who actually committed the thefts, others who were responsible for identifying the areas, individuals responsible for finding vehicles to use during the criminal activities, and others dedicated to receiving stolen goods.
The Police issued nine precautionary measures of detention in prison and one of obligation to report to the judicial police against the subjects involved.
