In the case of the books stolen from the Girolamini, the librarian Massimo Marino De Caro was sentenced to 5 years and 3 months by the judge, after having already been sentenced to 7 years in 2013.
The sum of the two sentences brought his total sentence to 12 years and 3 months of imprisonment. Instead, Don Sandro Marsano, the priest in charge of the Congregation of the Oratorians of Napoli, was completely acquitted. The court found the charge of criminal conspiracy for the theft of numerous valuable volumes untenable.
Among the other defendants, Stephane Delsalle was sentenced to four years in prison, Maurizio Bifolco to five years and six months, Luca Cableri to four years and six months, Stefano Ceccantoni to two years and six months and Mirko Camuri to five years and eight months (continued).
