A video posted by the creator of “My Trip to Naples” has shed light on a new racketeering scheme being implemented by an illegal parking attendant.
The man, in addition to asking for the usual fee for parking, enters the phone numbers of his clients in a Whatsapp group. In this way, when the Municipal Police of Napoli is coming, the parking attendants warn the motorists who can thus avoid the fine.
The influencer documented the incident, showing the enthusiasm of some customers who applauded the parking attendant for saving them from the fine.
Deputy Francesco Emilio Borrelli harshly commented on the episode, calling it “a disgrace” and “an example of a deviant mentality”. Borrelli underlined how these behaviors are not folkloristic, but damaging to the image of Naples and to legality.
The deputy then added that true Neapolitans hate crafty people and those who do not respect the rules. For Borrelli, those who rely on an abusive parking attendant and applaud him are complicit in an illegal system that is harmful to the city.
“These aspects of the illegal subculture are neither positive nor folkloristic but are the offspring of a deviant mentality whose spread has been favored by a climate of extreme tolerance and connivance.
Naples boasts so many things that a lifetime would not be enough to tell them, and instead certain absurdities take over and do nothing but contribute to reinforcing the stereotypes about Neapolitans.
. The true Neapolitan hates crafty people, charlatans and those who do not respect the rules, so the protagonists of the story belong to a category that we consider distant and alien to the city.
Anyone who chooses to rely on an extortionist and a criminal (a sort of hyper-technological 2.0 illegal parking attendant) to park their car and publicly applauds him because he avoided a fine (by getting paid under the table) is an active accomplice to this outrage".
