Naples, smartphone stolen after being forgotten on a bar table by a customer

A young man at Napoli steals a smartphone forgotten in a bar, caught on security cameras. Deputy Borrelli calls for the person responsible to be punished and the phone to be returned to its rightful owner.

The incident occurred in a bar in Piazza Carlo III, where security cameras captured a young man stealing a smartphone left on a table by a customer. The victim, after reporting the loss to the police, discovered thanks to the bar's recordings that he had been robbed.

He then decided to report the incident to MP Francesco Emilio Borrelli. MP Borrelli commented on the incident, highlighting the grave situation of impunity and incivility affecting the city.

"We are facing an endless drift that is devouring our city, thanks to a widespread sense of impunity that gives courage even to small-time thieves. The ones who pay the price are always the good citizens, those who, faced with a phone forgotten on a bar table, would have handed it over to the waiters or the police while waiting for the owner to come and claim it.

Instead we are faced with the worst expression of our city, a young man who without fear of being filmed, with his face uncovered, gets up, a quick glance at his cell phone and with a lightning-fast move puts it in his pocket. I hope that the person responsible is identified and punished and that the stolen goods are delivered to the rightful owner”. These are the words of Francesco Emilio Borrelli, deputy of the Green-Sinister Alliance.
