of Naples the intense talent of Peppe Barra, interpreter/protagonist of the new play
"Good evening everyone".
Peppe Barra's theatrical approach has often been described as "the thousand and one resurrections of the Neapolitan soul." Through his sarcastic persona and his diverse vocal ranges—from the deepest to the highest—the artist has always combined the cultured and popular elements of Partenope, blending tradition and innovation in his performances.
The recital “Buonasera a tutti” already suggests from its title what the audience should expect: a moment of intimacy between the artist and the spectators, going beyond the so-called fourth wall in a continuous dialogue with the audience.
A journey into the life of the man and the artist: his memories of childhood and adolescence
In Procida and Naples in the 50s. An exploration of his memories as a young actor with Zietta Liù, up to his success with the Nuova Compagnia di Canto Popolare and the years spent in theater with the unforgettable Concetta Barra, his mother and stage partner. And then, a journey through his more than 60-year career, spanning theater and song, touching on Baroque music and folk tradition, the magical world of Giambattista Basile, great composers like Petito and Viviani, variety, cabaret, and finally contemporary singer-songwriters. Barra will be the sole star on stage—along with Maestro Luca Urciuolo, who will accompany him on the piano—to entertain and thrill, with madness and poetry. Without ever
interrupt the game with the audience, like a happy meeting between children who have
just the desire to be together with joy and irony.
