Last night, in Pianura, a western neighborhood of Naples, a man stabbed his wife and then locked her in the house, wounded, and left.
The woman's heart-rending screams and the man's threats attracted the attention of the neighbors who alerted the Carabinieri of the police station. Pianura.
The Carabinieri arrived on the scene, in via Galdieri, and found the woman trapped inside the apartment with a deep wound to her arm. The firefighters broke down the door and the Carabinieri helped the victim.
The woman told the Carabinieri that she was subjected to violence and harassment by her husband every day, even in front of her minor children.

The Carabinieri tracked down and arrested the husband in flagrante delicto for mistreatment in the family. The man is now in prison awaiting trial.
