The prefect of Napoli, Michele di Bari, together with the mayor Gaetano Manfredi and other local authorities, went to Piazza Garibaldi this afternoon for an inspection relating to the “Safe Streets” safety device.
This intervention is part of the operation that includes the deployment of Italian Army soldiers to guard several sensitive areas of the city.
The increase in the military contingent, which took place on the orders of the Ministry of the Interior in collaboration with the Ministry of Defense starting from March 1, is aimed at monitoring strategic areas such as Piazza Garibaldi, railway infrastructures, ports and airports, as well as other areas considered critical.
Military personnel work alongside law enforcement and various security agencies already present in the area to ensure the protection of sensitive sites and carry out reconnaissance and patrolling tasks in metropolitan areas.
This integrated intervention aims to strengthen the security of urban areas and protect critical infrastructure from the potential threat of illicit acts.
