Pfirst appointment today at Pomigliano for the 130th anniversary of the establishment of the Chamber of Labor of Naples, with the initiative, “From Alfa Sud to Stellantis: past, present and future of the industrial district in Pomigliano d'Arco”.
“We are starting the celebrations for the 130th anniversary of the Chamber of Labor of Naples – stated the general secretary of the Cgil Naples and Campania, Nicola Ricci – with this first important reflection on industrial policies and the history of the Pomigliano plant.
In the 70s in Italy, when a debate developed on possible employment policies to be set up for the disadvantaged areas of the country and on what production to foresee in the South, Pomigliano was thought of. Today, after so many years, the theme still seems to be this: how to defend employment and how to relaunch industrial policies.
A large multinational like Stellantis cannot continue to hold workers hostage because of industrial plans that are lacking and the uncertainties that still characterize the transformation of the automotive sector. Likewise, if the objective to guarantee the future of the automotive sector in Italy and Campania is to produce one and a half million vehicles, we would like to understand what the plans and program are for Pandina”.
