During the latest meeting of the Italia Viva Citizens' Board of Directors Pompei, held yesterday, an important step towards the cultural and social growth of our community was outlined. The Board of Directors is pleased to announce that, through the Council Group, it will be proposed to allocate some rooms of the prestigious Palazzo De Fusco for the reopening of the Municipal Library "Ludovico Pepe" which will return, after many years of waiting, to the city center, while, for the old headquarters of Casale Piscicelli, a redevelopment of the building will be required for the establishment on site of a Cultural HUB aimed at the associative realities of the territory.
The social and cultural heritage of our city is a cornerstone of the political action of Italia Viva Pompei, which is strongly determined to preserve and enrich it, also through the reopening of the municipal library and a space dedicated to Pompeian associations. The project plans to transform these spaces into multipurpose cultural centers, with the aim of offering the community places of identity for study, meeting, social and personal growth.
The Municipal Library and the Casale Piscicelli will become inclusive cultural centers, open to all age groups and diverse social and cultural backgrounds. Italia Viva firmly believes that culture is the foundation of a prosperous society; our commitment is to reawaken the interest and participation of the Pompeii community through knowledge, education, and discussion.
Furthermore, the Italia Viva Citizens' Board wishes to inform the public of the imminent change in the position of Councilor of the Pompeii City Council, Dr. Marcello Lala, for reasons related to personal political choices that diverge from our party. He will be replaced by an equally qualified and motivated individual.
