Two young men were stopped last night while driving a Ford Fiesta on Via dei Martiri Atellani, in Orta di Atella (CE). Some suspicious maneuvers attracted the attention of the Carabinieri, who decided to conduct a check on the vehicle. The officers, considering the area adjacent to the "Parco Verde di Caivano," wanted to investigate the situation further.
During the check, the two occupants, a 20-year-old from Orta di Atella and a 23-year-old from Cardito (CE), showed a nervous attitude, prompting the Carabinieri to proceed with a search. Under the passenger seat, the 23-year-old found a glasses case containing 28 sticks of hashish for a total weight of 70,04 grams and the sum of €190 in his wallet.
Subsequently, during a search of the 23-year-old's home, additional quantities of marijuana were discovered, weighing a total of 396 grams. Inside the home, the Carabinieri also found and seized two precision-cutting knives and a precision scale.
The driver, a 20-year-old, was fined for not having a license and for not having insurance coverage. The 23-year-old was arrested and taken to the Santa Maria Capua Vetere prison (CE) for judicial review.
