Enrico Moglie, a friend of the 17-year-old from the Spanish Quarter convicted of the murder of Giovanbattista Cutolo, Giò Giò, is also among the youths handcuffed by the Naples Flying Squad in execution of eight European arrest warrants issued as part of an investigation into gangs of Neapolitan robbers who traveled abroad to steal luxury watches.
In addition to Moglie, Gennaro Ioia, Andrea Porcino, Michelangelo Morra, Marco Fischetti, Sara Marino, Salvatore Di Napoli and Salvatore Ruffo (arrested in Spain) were arrested.
The measures were issued as part of an investigation into gangs of Neapolitan robbers who traveled abroad to steal luxury watches.
The cities affected
The cities targeted by the robbers, aged between 20 and 30 and coming from the Spanish Quarters, Piazza Mercato and Sanità in Naples, were almost all European capitals, in particular Paris, and the Balearic Islands in Spain.
The modus operandi
The robbers always operated by stealing luxury watches (Rolex, Richard Mille, and Patek Philippe) from their victims, all wealthy individuals. The loot was then entrusted to a "mule," an unsuspecting member of the group, who transported it to Italy.
Receiving and the black market
Once a Napoli, the watches were sold to Neapolitan fences for 30-40% less than their market value. They were subsequently resold as second-hand ("second wrist") at international fairs and to private individuals, mainly Asians and Arabs, for double or triple the price paid.

International cooperation and extradition
The information that emerged during the investigations was shared by the State Police with the authorities of the other States involved, who issued the European arrest warrants.
The eight arrested will now be tried and judged abroad. The investigative procedure used, with the role of the Central Operations Service of the State Police, will facilitate the imminent extradition requests that will arrive from various European countries.
A very profitable business
The operation disrupted a criminal gang that had built a highly lucrative business by exploiting violence and intimidation to steal luxury watches and resell them at exorbitant prices.
The next moves
The investigation will continue to identify any other members of the group and to recover the loot from the robberies.
