From 8 to 10 March 2024, at the Teatro TRAM, “RECordare” will be on stage, written and performed by Roberta Frascati and directed by Anna Chiara Senatore.
On stage in the hall in via Port'Alba, the show produced by Mudra – Arti dello spettacolo: a woman's vision, a door that isn't there, and everything begins: the silent room is filled with music, images and words in a stream of consciousness.
On stage a woman, D, actress of her memories and body of her shadows, in a non-place. A white room, closed, but open by cracks through which we can glimpse D's ghosts come to life. We imagine projections, a camera with which D films the stage objects; two parallel realities that continually intertwine, until they merge, only to find each other again among the deformations of the objects/characters. D. takes us on a journey through the folds of her memory, dotted with mysterious guests.
The room, until then empty and silent, is filled with words and music. They are the words of memories, those of D., who travels in the folds of her memory, in the company of mysterious guests, who follow one another, silent, accompanying the protagonist on a long and often painful journey, dotted with objects, signs of that memory so important, which for D. could be the key to opening new doors to the future. This woman travels inside herself with a language that clings to her deepest roots and mixes it with moments of poetry and music. The verses of the songs are provocations, alarm bells, balm for wounds, awareness.
D. records passages of that appointment with the past. To then archive them? Can such a comparison definitively close some doors? Or is it only the key to open others? The rule of the here and now, typical of theater and stage representation, could seem to be ignored by declining the story on the level of memory.
“Do memories really only live in the past? Where do they live? How many voices do they have? How much do they inhabit our present? These are the questions that prompted me to write this text”, explains the author Roberta Frascati.
Phrases, sounds, colors, smells, nothing is left to chance, when memories are scanned, and the same happens for D., who from these begins to tell, from their most concrete part, the objects, which become symbols, charged with energy, fundamental elements of a sort of psychomagical act, necessary so that the pain of the experience linked to it, can transform into something else, perhaps into that strength necessary to subvert that course of events that seemed already marked.
