Clashes between fans in Castellammare after the derby between Juve Stabia and Casertana, three officers injured

After the derby between Juve Stabia e Casertana, which occurred yesterday evening, violent clashes occurred between fans and police in Castellammare di Stabia, in the province of Naples. The disturbances occurred around midnight, precisely between via Virgilio and viale Europa, in the very center of the city.

The match, which ended with a 1-0 victory for the Serie C group C leaders, sparked tensions during the outflow of fans towards the highway. Supporters from Caserta clashed with local ultras, resulting in chaos.

According to the information received, the mobile unit of the Naples Police Headquarters intervened with relief charges and the use of tear gas to disperse the troublemakers. During the clashes, three officers were slightly injured, and several parked cars were damaged.

The attack by Juve Stabia ultras is said to have started from a small street that intersects with the main avenue, where visiting fans from Caserta were expected to pass. Some hooded individuals had been reported in the area shortly before the clashes. Although no fans required hospital treatment, those responsible for the clashes are now being identified for the application of the Daspo, the urban Daspo, which provides sanctions against those responsible for acts of violence during sporting events.
