They were two students, Vincenzo Nocerino, 24, and Vida Shahlavad, 20, of Iranian origin, the two young people found lifeless this morning in a garage in Secondigliano, a neighborhood of Naples.
The girl's family was notified of the tragedy through the Italian consulate in Tehran and is now awaiting their arrival in Napoli at the latest by Monday to attend the autopsy and then bring the daughter back to her homeland.
The two bodies were found inside Vincenzo's car, a red Panda, where they had secluded themselves in search of privacy after spending the evening together and attending a party.
It was the father who opened the garage door and made the gruesome discovery after making dozens of unsuccessful calls to his son's cell phone. The man immediately raised the alarm. Unfortunately, emergency services were unsuccessful.
The two boys had attended a party
According to an initial hypothesis, the two lovers died due to carbon monoxide fumes released by the 24-year-old's car, which had been left with the engine running to heat the passenger compartment.
The Naples Public Prosecutor's Office has opened an investigation and ordered an autopsy to determine the cause of the two boys' deaths.
The main hypothesis is that of a tragic accident, but investigators are not ruling out other possibilities.
