The Municipality of Caserta has announced the installation of thirty new public video surveillance cameras at ten locations across the city. This decision was made following the approval of the "Pact for the Implementation of Urban Security" by the City Council.
This agreement, which involves the Prefecture and the Municipality of Caserta, aims to strengthen prevention and combat actions against widespread and predatory crime, as well as promote respect for urban decorum through the installation of new video surveillance systems.
The Provincial Committee for Public Order and Safety will be a key point of reference for the implementation of this agreement. The funds for the installation of the new cameras will come from the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Economy and Finance, in addition to the resources already provided for by the previous agreement signed between the Prefecture and the Municipality on October 5, 2022.
The new cameras will be installed in areas of the city where there are frequent incidents of illegality or degradation, caused by littering or other illegal activities. The affected areas include Via Graefer, Via Dietro Corte, Via Giulia, Via Coccia, Via Nazzari, Via Learco Guerra, Via De Martino, Via Vivaldi, the recycling center on Via Talamonti, and Via Tedeschi.
This initiative is part of the "Caserta Sicura" project, presented by the Administration, which calls for the installation of a total of thirty-nine new cameras to improve safety in the city. Caserta Mayor Carlo Marino emphasized that the signing of this new agreement with the Prefecture represents a further step towards ensuring greater safety for citizens through the presence of control systems and cameras.
