The two Camorra clans that have dominated for years Torre Annunziata that is, the Gionta clan and the Gallo-Cavalieri clan, had established a sort of pax to divide the proceeds of illicit business and to face the rise of the youth clan of the "Fourth System".
And it is in this context of investigation that yesterday morning's blitz takes place, which led to 12 people being sent to prison. The Torre Annunziata Carabinieri executed a custodial order in prison, on the orders of the Naples DDA, against the 12 people accused of mafia-type criminal association and drug trafficking.
The investigation is a second branch of the one that led to the defeat of the leaders of the Gionta and Gallo-Cavalieri clans.
Among those arrested are Giuseppe Agnello, known as “'o patriota'”, and Giuseppe Montemurro, alias “'Peppe con la barba'”, both accused of being extortionists on behalf of their respective clans.
New arrest warrant also for the prisoners Salvatore Abbellito, Giuseppe Colonia, Salvatore Gallo, Gennaro Gallo Battipaglia, Carmine De Rosa, Angelo Vastola and Vincenzo Visiello, accused of supplying cocaine to the drug dealing areas of the Murattiano district.
Also in prison are the sisters Luisa and Giuseppina Monaco, nicknamed “'trafilare'”, linked to the “'tittoni'”, one of the families most involved in drug trafficking. The only one accused of having favored the Gionta clan is Francesco Pallonetto.
According to the Antimafia, at the top of the group of cocaine suppliers were Abbellito, Colonia, Gallo and Gallo Battipaglia. Giuseppe Agnello's house in via Sambuco had been made available to the group for the Camorra summits.
On the same street, the Monaco sisters, Vastola and Pallonetto are said to have managed two thriving competing drug dealing areas, while De Rosa is said to have acted as distributor and Visiello as supplier.
