Uan 82 year old retired ASL official, resident in Greek's tower, was fully acquitted for not having committed the act of aggravated fraud.
The man, suffering from dementia, had been involved in an identity theft case in which he was accused of online fraud.
Thanks to the legal assistance of the lawyer Pasquale Scognamiglio, he was able to prove that he had been the victim of identity theft. The court of Santa Maria Capua Vetere issued the acquittal after the 82-year-old explained that he was unaware of everything that had happened.
His identity document had been stolen and used to register a prepaid card linked to a phone number registered to a stranger, who then committed a series of online scams.
The man found himself on trial without being aware of the events, but he managed to demonstrate his total lack of involvement in the facts.
