On the occasion of International Women's Day, Thursday 7 and Friday 8 March, the Trianon Viviani promotes "Freedom costs women", two days of meetings to take stock of the state of women's rights.
“In these two days – explains the artistic director Marisa Laurito – we will meet with several prominent figures from the Neapolitan cultural world and women's associations to take stock of how much freedom costs us women today. According to the annual report drawn up by the UN Population Fund (UNFPA), on average women in the world enjoy 75% fewer rights than men".
According to the popular artist “We have made many steps forward, but many more still need to be made and concern greater protection for maternity, the right to equal pay, protection against discrimination in the workplace, the right to safety in our cities and gender equality.".
On March 7, starting at 17:30 p.m., Laurito will discuss the cost of freedom with Nadia Carlomagno, actress and director of the master's program "Theater pedagogy and teaching" at the Suor Orsola Benincasa University, Maria D'Elia, president of the Mondragone Foundation - Fashion Museum, Natascia Festa, journalist for Corriere del Mezzogiorno, Francesca Galgano, writer and professor of the Law Department of the University of Federico II, Marzia La Piana, commander of the Napoli Stella Carabinieri company, Rosita Marchese, president of the Academy of Fine Arts of Naples, the singer Pietra Montecorvino, the artists Antonella Romano and Roxy in the Box, Maura Striano, councilor for Education of the Municipality of Naples, Angela Tecce, president of the Donnaregina Foundation for Contemporary Arts and the Madre Museum, and Ilaria Urbani, journalist for La Repubblica.
Representatives of various associations involved in the area will participate: Action Women – Social tailoring in Castel Volturno #tuttesiamouna (Paola Russo), Arcidonna of Naples (Rosa Di Matteo), Azadi of the Iranians of Naples (Rozita Shoaei), Cora (Carla Capaldo), Dedalus (Tania Castellaccio), the Volcanic Phoenix (Carmela Sorrentino), Forti Guerriere (Simona Cappella), the Kassandre (Clara Farnioli), Lazzarelle (Imma Carpiniello), Maddalena (Annamaria Varriale) and Soroptimist club Naples (Elvira Lenzi).
At 19:30 pm the debate “Cinema and Women: how much can the seventh art influence women's emancipation?”, organized in agreement with the Campania Region, an opportunity to discuss the current relationship of the female world with cinema, to understand, among other things, how the seventh art has followed the evolution of women's emancipation and what is the current role and weight of female professionals. Speakers will include Armida Filippelli, regional councilor for Professional Training, Rosanna Romano, regional general director for Cultural Policies and Tourism, Titta Fiore, president of the Film commission Campania Region, and actresses Ludovica Nasti and Antonella Stefanucci.
On March 8, starting at 10 am, there will be “Sebben che siamo donne… Tra passato, presente e futuro”, a meeting with the students of the schools that have joined the project “Coscienza Comune” promoted by the Municipality of Naples. This event is organized by the city administration in collaboration with the Trianon Viviani foundation.
