A serious case of environmental degradation has been brought to light near the Afragola Town Hall, where an abandoned building has been transformed into a veritable illegal landfill. The complaint comes from Francesco Emilio Borrelli, MP for the Green-Left Alliance, and Salvatore Iavarone, territorial representative of Europa Verde, who highlighted the dangerous situation posed by the uncontrolled accumulation of waste.
"A spectacle like this absolutely cannot happen in the heart of a residential area," Borrelli stated, emphasizing the gravity of the situation and the responsibility of the municipality, the owner of the building, in allowing illegal dumping to occur on a regular basis. The two politicians emphasized that the building's abandoned condition not only causes visual degradation, but also poses a serious risk to the environment and public safety.
The concern is shared by many Afragola residents, who have urged Iavarone to voice their outrage and demand for action. "We have asked the administration to intervene and urgently clean up the entire site," Borrelli and Iavarone insisted, describing the situation as an "ecological bomb" with a very high risk of fires.
