Another road accident in Fuorigrotta, this time near Piazzale Tecchio. During the night, a car hit the road at breakneck speed, lost control and overturned after destroying the bus stop shelter.
According to a resident, who informed MP Francesco Emilio Borrelli (Green-Left Alliance), some passersby intervened to help the car and rescue the occupants. Fortunately, there appear to be no serious injuries.
"Too many irresponsible people put their own lives and the lives of others at risk," thunders Borrelli. "Roads like these are transformed into racetracks for madmen who must be stopped by any means, including speed bumps and speed control devices."
The MP criticizes the latest changes to the Highway Code, which, in his opinion, have done nothing to combat speeding. Indeed, they have allowed new drivers to ride more powerful motorcycles and have reduced the power of local authorities to intervene.
"A choice we will pay dearly for," concludes Borrelli.
