Fiorentina's hard-fought victory against Viktoria Plzen last night, which secured them access to the Conference League semi-finals, has turned into a controversy over the behaviour of the Viola coach, Italian Vincenzo, towards a correspondent during a post-match interview.
While the internet exploded with comments about the goals scored by Gonzalez and Biraghi in extra time, images were spreading on social networks showing Italiano approaching Vanessa Leonardi, a Sky correspondent, covered by the hood of her down jacket. For a few seconds, the coach's face was hidden behind the journalist's hood, giving rise to speculation about an alleged prolonged kiss.
Commentator Dario Massara described the event as a “kiss,” sparking further debate online. However, Fiorentina’s official version contradicts these interpretations. According to the club, there was no kiss, and the journalist simply ducked her head under her hood while Italiano and she argued.
