Naples. Pietrarsa beach is once again safe for swimming. ARPAC Campania, the regional agency for environmental protection, has released data on bathing water quality, providing periodic information on the state of the sea based on monitoring conducted throughout the bathing season.
Initial surveys in 2024 revealed that the stretch of Pietrarsa beach, facing the San Giovanni seafront , is once again suitable for swimming. This important result was achieved thanks to intense and consistent interventions conducted by the Municipality of Naples and ABC.
"For the first time, a beach in eastern Naples has become suitable for swimming thanks to the major sewer works currently underway in San Giovanni, which are producing the first concrete results. Since last year, the beaches have been open for sun therapy, except for small areas that have been made safe ," the Department of Infrastructure reports.
"This year finally also the first positive results, which make the coast of the Municipality on the Pietrarsa side suitable for swimming. The data is to be confirmed later, but it testifies to the extent of the activity underway, in terms of purification, to give back to the citizens spaces and resources that have long been taken away from public use".
