La Civil protection of the Campania Region has issued a notice of weather alert Yellow level for rain and temporal, valid from 15pm this afternoon until 6am tomorrow morning.
The alert concerns the coastal stretch that goes from the Sorrento-Amalfi Peninsula to Cilento and specifically the following areas: Sorrento-Amalfi Peninsula, Monti di Sarno, Monti Picentini, Tusciano, Alto Sele, Piana Sele, Alto Cilento, Tanagro and Basso Cilento.
Thunderstorms could be sudden and intense, with the possibility of lightning, hail and gusts of wind, in addition to the risk of hydrogeological disasters.
Storms could cause a variety of damage and hazards, including flooding, rising river levels, road runoff, runoff carrying debris, rockfall and landslides.
In addition, hailstorms and gusts of wind could damage temporary structures, public green spaces and roofs. Municipalities are invited to activate the Municipal Operations Centers and to adopt all measures for the prevention and contrast of the phenomena foreseen according to the municipal civil protection plans.
