A 21 year old young man from Campania casalnuovo he was arrested by the State Police on charges of aggravated extortion against an elderly woman in Rome.

The fact dates back to last September. The elderly woman, over eighty years old, received a phone call from a fake nephew who asked her for money to pay a fine to save her mother who had just been arrested.
The scammer, realizing that the victim was not alone in the house, managed to isolate her with a ruse and convince her to let an accomplice into the house. The accomplice then stole all the jewelry from the old woman's safe.
The investigations, conducted by the agents of the VIII Tor Carbone District with the support of the Scientific Police, led to the identification of the 21-year-old, believed to be the material perpetrator of the crime.
With the coordination of the Rome Public Prosecutor's Office, further evidence was acquired which led to the issuing of a custodial order against the young man.
The Tor Carbone agents tracked down the 21-year-old in his home in Casalnuovo di Napoli and, after the ritual acts, took him to the Poggioreale prison.

Unfortunately, this episode represents yet another case of "fraud to the detriment of the elderly”, a phenomenon that is unfortunately increasingly widespread in recent times.
