The Parliamentary Anti-Mafia Commission has asked the Prosecutor's Office to Avellino, led by Domenico Airoma, the documents of the investigation that led to the arrest of the resigning mayor Gianluca Festa, the former municipal manager Filomena Smiraglia and the architect Fabio Guerriero.
Festa is accused of a series of serious crimes, including corruption, rigged competitions, irregularities in procurement and contracts, obstruction of justice, tampering with evidence, and disclosing official secrets.
The Anti-Mafia Commission's analysis of the documents could lead to further investigations, including through hearings with investigators and prosecutors.
