Rapper Lazza, a well-known AC Milan fan, responded to the controversy sparked by his chant during the Europa League match between AC Milan and Roma at San Siro, where he was filmed chanting "Napoletani, voi siete Neapolitani..." (Neapolitans, you are Neapolitans..."). The video went viral, sparking reactions among Neapolitan fans.
Through his Instagram stories, Lazza wanted to dispel any misunderstanding: “Dear researchers of Evil, it is no secret that I am a football fan like the majority of Italians, and it is certainly no secret that I am a Milan fan like a part (the most beautiful) of those fans ,” he wrote.
The rapper emphasized that his chant wasn't motivated by negative intent: "From here to building a case on a simple chant about wasting time, mostly without a single offensive word, there's a huge gap! Loving a football team will never make me hate any city in my country!"
Lazza then addressed a direct message to Neapolitans, highlighting his respect and affection for them: "They know well the esteem and affection I feel for them, and between us there has always been a healthy bond of football humour, for the simple fact that, like me, they love their hometown team! And perhaps that's the beauty of it!"
Concluding, the rapper recalled his role as an artist: "I make music, let's never forget that!" and joked about the match's result: "I'll end by responding to all my Neapolitan friends who've been making fun of me since yesterday for the result... well, yes, I'm still jealous! I love you all."
