During the night, a joint operation by the Carabinieri of the Casoria radiomobile section and the military of the Afragola station led to the reporting of aggravated theft of four individuals in Casavatore. It was almost one in the morning when, following a report to the operations center of a theft of a Peugeot 208 that had occurred in Vomero, the patrols were deployed to via Campanariello.
The search, however, moved to Via Marconi, where a VW T-Rock with four passengers on board was intercepted. Despite the order to stop, a chase began which, after a few hundred meters, led to the arrest of the fugitives. Inside the vehicle, the Carabinieri discovered and seized burglary tools, presumably used to steal the Peugeot 208, which was later found in Via Mazzini and returned to its owner.
The Volkswagen, used by the suspects, was instead returned to the rental company owned by them. Of the four arrested, aged between 19 and 26, only one had no criminal record. The Carabinieri investigations continue to ascertain the involvement of the group in other crimes in the area of Naples and its province.
