Two hotels in Ischia have been seized by the Guardia di Finanza of Naples following investigations into building violations and unauthorized discharges into the sea.
The accommodation facilities, located in the municipalities of Serrara Fontana and Forio , were the subject of investigations lasting over a year which led to the discovery of numerous violations.
The investigations, conducted by the naval air operations department of the Guardia di Finanza of Naples with the support of the Ischia company, highlighted the construction of illegal buildings and the discharge of waste water into the sea without the necessary authorizations.
The judicial police activity, carried out both on the ground and with the help of aircraft supplied to the Guardia di Finanza, allowed the acquisition of evidence against the owners of the two hotels.
The investigations also involved the technical offices of the municipalities of Serrara Fontana and Forio to verify the authorizations held by the accommodation facilities in relation to the alleged crimes.
The seizure of the hotels represents a severe blow to illegality in the tourism sector of Ischia. The operation confirms the commitment of the Guardia di Finanza in combating the phenomena of illegal building and environmental protection.
Investigations are continuing to ascertain any responsibilities of other individuals involved.
