Marisa Diana, cousin of Don Peppe Diana and outgoing deputy mayor, announces her candidacy for mayor of Casal di Principe in the elections of June 8th and 9th. Diana made the decision to run after the resignation of Mayor Renato Natale on Thursday, April 4th.
Natale resigned to "encourage the majority" to find a single candidate and out of a "sense of responsibility."
In recent weeks, the president of the city council Lia Caterino had already run for mayor. Today, Diana has decided to come out into the open, while declaring herself open to dialogue with other political groups.
Diana explains that she decided to run "out of respect for the institution and for the other candidates ," but also to "continue the path undertaken in recent years, which has brought about significant changes in the country but which must not and cannot be interrupted." Diana will present her program in the coming days. Diana's candidacy has been positively received by many citizens of Casal di Principe.
Many see her as the right person to continue the work started since Christmas.
