Napoli's all-time top scorer, Dries Mertens, was a guest on the show "Delietta Gol", broadcast every Thursday at 21.00pm on Prima Tv channel 17 and TV Luna channel 83. During the interview, Mertens shared his emotions and thoughts on his return to Napoli and his experience with the blue club.
“Returning to Castel Volturno was exciting”, Mertens admitted. “It’s the first time I’ve come back, I had the chance to see the guys again and then also see the changing rooms again… they were great emotions.

“Even if this year didn't go the way we wanted, I still believe in qualifying for the Champions League and they have to believe in it too. I've seen the boys well, I've worked with Calzona and I believe in the staff's philosophy”. Speaking about his years in Naples, Mertens underlined the importance of the city for him.

Everyone, because every year I've always seen beautiful things. I can't wait to stop playing football to enjoy the city even more." Recalling the 2018 Scudetto and his experience as a fan after his departure, Mertens expressed his gratitude and attachment to the club.

Finally, Mertens shared his hopes for the future, including the possibility of seeing his son wear the Napoli shirt. “What will I do when I stop playing? I don’t know the answer yet”he said. “When I do something I like to concentrate 100% and now I'm at Galatasaray and I want to enjoy every moment.
